Welcome to my History report on ancient Asian weapons. I will be covering China, Japan, and Indea. The main weapon types I will be showing are swords, knives, spears, axes, and projectiles. China has been an inspiration for a lot of weapons, and some weapons are even evolved forms of each other Japan is usually most influenced by China, and Indea is most of the time self-inspired, as well as China. Weapons have been in use since before recorded history, starting from stone tools to the weapons we have today. Some weapons were very widely used, like in ancient China, the Dao was one of the most widely used weapons. 'Dao' was a term that referred to any kind of long weapon. As a result, the Dao could be classified into many different weapons. The evolution of the Dao started in the Bronze age.The Qiang class of spears were believed to have evolved from the prehistoric spear that was known as the 'Mao'. The common Qiang could be described as a spear that had a long staff, and had a steel, iron, or bronze mounted tip.
